The European Employment Lawyers Association
(EELA) is an incorporated association established in accordance with German
law.
EELA objectives are:
- the bringing together of practising employment lawyers across the
European Union;
- improving the implementation and adoption of the social dimension;
- exchanging views on the manner of such implementation;
- strengthening the links between European employment lawyers.
EELA Awards an annual prize of Euro 5.000,00 (five thousand) as a means of providing support for law students or practising lawyers who have been qualified for less than five years,aspiring to a career in labour and employment law. The prize will be awarded for an article concerning an appropriatesubject in European labour and employment law.
Conditions
The following terms and conditions shall apply to the award.
1 Applicants must be citizens of a member State of the European Union;
2 The article shall be not less than 5,000 words and analyse a subject decided every year by the EELA Board.
3 The Article shall be submitted to EELA in the English language. At the discretion of the author the article may be provided in one of the other official languages of the European Union but in that case it shall be the sole responsibility of the author to ensure that at the same time an English translation is submitted.
4 The Article shall be delivered (both in hard and soft copy) to EELA at its registered office not later than 15th March of the following year (or the different deadline established by th Board). The author should at the same time submit an up to date CV together with evidence of citizenship and professional status or attendance at an educational institution. This may take the form of a certificate from a Dean or equivalent officer of a university or law school or employer as the case may be.
Prize The successful author will be awarded a prize of Euro 5.000,00 (five thousand) and granted membership of EELA (subject always to EELA’s membership criteria) for a period of one year without payment of membership fees. The successful author will also be invited to attend, and if appropriate present a paper at the EELA annual conference. EELA will pay the successful author's reasonable travel and accomodation expenses for attendance at its conference for one or two nights, depending on the country from which the winner came.The winner will also not require to pay a conference fee.
Information
The copyright in the successful author’s article shall become the property of EELA.
EELA may at its sole discretion cancel the award or vary the prize at any time.
